Evening internals,
I'm excited to announce that PHP 7.1.0 will be GA on December 1st.
It has taken a lot of hard work from a lot of people, so stop whatever you
are doing and give those people a round of applause.
Cheers
Joe
Great work everyone! Your users appreciate all you do!

I am happy to stand up and yell and start migration from all of my
5.6.x work BUT only if I can get it to compile in a very strict POSIX
production environment. I have not seen that ( yet ) but hope it isn't
too far away.

A few days too late to make our launch date, but that's ok we'll run RC6
in prod for a bit longer ;)
Thanks to everyone involved! Great progress [1]

Good stuff. A++, would use again :)
Does it make sense to delay 7.1.1 by a week so its release cycle syncs up with that of 5.6 and 7.0? They're due on January 5, while 7.1.1 would be due Dec 28 right now.

I'd say so, yes. It will be necessary to sync at some point for security
issues.
