Hi,
It may seem an obvious or odd question but do we have an estimated
timeline (or just a rough estimate of a release date) for 7.1, or will
it be decided later, depending on proposed RFCs ?
I am currently working on several features potentially targeting 7.1 and
such information will be a great help to organize my work. Even an
estimate of 'probably not before x months/years' will be useful.
Thanks
François

In theory December 3. 2016.
As it is well defined in the release process rfc.
A year is the general time frame. 5.6 was August 2014. But don't forget you
need to aim for 9 months due to feature freeze and such.
Thanks for contributing.

In general, let's talk about this in a few months. Like for example in March or April, when we'll already some features and improvements into 7.1. There's no point in deciding about a release without having any vague idea what it's going to be about.
Usually next (minor) releases are be 10-14 months after the next one.
It doesn't really matter when you work on something… if it won't make it into 7.1, it'll be in 7.2. That's what nice here, you can contribute whenever you want ;-)
Bob
P.s.: but I guess you can safely assume there won't be any release in the next 6 months.

Personally, as long as I don't get blindsided by "feature freeze in 48
hours, better get those RFCs written and voted on trololol" I'm okay with
any time. :)
