PHP 7.4.17RC1 has just been released and can be downloaded from:

Windows binaries are available at: https://windows.php.net/qa/

Please test it carefully, and report any bugs in the bug system at

Maybe a dumb question, but is there a reason why there's no Changelog in the
source tree? Or did I miss it?

I am always wondering what is actually in this one (.17) and what has changed
since the last one (.16).
The only way to find that out is to check the git repo. Or read the changelog
after it has been released.

Argh, so I missed it. Stupid me. I was just so fixated on Changelog/CHANGELOG
that my brain ignored NEWS (which was actually the original changelog file in
the good ol' days).
