Hello,

I volonteered earlier to become a maintainer for the php-ldap module
  as it seems unmaintained: https://github.com/gophp7/gophp7-ext/wiki/extensions-catalog
I got no answer, I’m not sure what is the procedure for this kind of things.

Is there a special place to ask for this?
The php-ldap module needs some work and it would be sad for it to be left unmaintained.

It might be useful to state some references, such as already submitted
patches or pull requests, for instance.

Have you already submitted the form on <http://php.net/git-php.php>?

I posted a patch here: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=69471

I did not send anything else yet because I wanted to see if I had any reaction first, and I got no answer to bugs I opened regarding php-ldap.
I later saw that there are PR and patches fixing problems I have with no answer:
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=61853
https://github.com/php/php-src/pull/652

That’s when I thought the php-ldap extension might need a new maintainer.

I just did.

Thank you for your answer.

the patches in bug #61921 and bug #61853 was unfortunately not brought to
the point. If you want to take over and make ext/ldap compatible with
2.4.x without usage of the deprecated symbols - that would be great. I
guess the compatibility with ldap 2.3.x would still be useful.

If you've decided to work on that, I'd be glad to support you with tests
and reviews. I'd suggest for the start you to port those two ticket's
patches to PHP7 and make the PRs, then we could test/improve it and see
further.

Thanks.

The ldap code could definitely use some attention. You have git access
now. Could you also go through the bug db and see if you can address
some of the longstanding reported issues?

Thanks for the git access.
I’m leaving for a week tonight, but I will look into the bug DB when I get back.
