Hello!

I packed PHP 4.4.5RC1 today, which you can find here:

http://downloads.php.net/derick/php-4.4.5RC1.tar.bz2
ee9238175c6b6ecec8712954065451c4

http://downloads.php.net/derick/php-4.4.5RC1.tar.gz
5337c72e3d70fb88b932215957e250f8

Windows binaries will follow suit.

Please test it carefully, and report any bugs in the bug system, but
only if you have a short reproducable test case.

If everything goes well, we will probably release PHP 4.4.5 before the
end of the month.

regards,
Derick

Just a quick question: Running make test reports some tests to fail, is
this expected or should this be looked at?

FAILED TEST SUMMARY
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug #35239 (Objects can lose references) [tests/lang/bug35239.phpt]

Seems to be fixed in PHP5 and above only?

Bug #24155 (gdImageRotate270 rotation problem). [ext/gd/tests/bug24155.phpt]

Maybe only fixed in PHP5 and above?

Bug #27582 (ImageFillToBorder() on alphablending image looses alpha on
fill color) [ext/gd/tests/bug27582_1.phpt]

Not fixable right now according to bugs.php.net, I guess this test was
left in as a reminder.

Bug #16069 [ext/iconv/tests/bug16069.phpt]

No idea, I don't care ;-)

Bug #24142 (round() problems) [ext/standard/tests/math/bug24142.phpt]
Bug #25694 (round() and `number_format()` inconsistency)
[ext/standard/tests/math/bug25694.phpt]

Those two seem to have been reintroduced in 4.4.5, they worked in 4.4.4
for me!

Should I send the test report to php-qa or how can I help solving those
issues?

Cheers,
- Chris

For the record, I do not commit anymore to php4. I do not have the
time to deal with all the complications in there. You may ask Derick
if you like one patch or another back ported to php4.

Will this recent bug fix make its way into 4.4.5RC2 ?

?? Jan 2007, Version 4.4.5
- Fixed bug #39819 (Using $this not in object context can cause segfaults).
