## #132866 — frode@ennerd.com — 2026-10-13T16:00:15+00:00

Hi,
I would like to request RFC karma for my wiki account, frodeborli.

I intend to publish an RFC called "Scope", introducing a notion of logical operation identity to PHP, independent of fibers and generators, but preserved across their execution.

The proposal also makes $_GET, $_POST, $_COOKIE, $_FILES and $_REQUEST scope-local, with the SAPI-provided arrays belonging to the root scope. Existing PHP programs that do not use Scope retain their current behavior.

A separate vote would make the default locale and timezone scope-local as well. Ordinary shared state, including $_SERVER, $_ENV, class statics and $GLOBALS, remains shared.

The purpose is to establish the runtime foundations for long-running PHP applications and eventual async execution, without introducing a concurrency or scheduling model into the engine.

I have implemented a PHP 8.2+ extension and interoperability adapters for AMPHP, ReactPHP, Revolt, phasync and Swoole, with shared conformance tests:

Thanks,
Frode Børli
