My point here is that it's creation is optional and picking up that it does NOT in fact exist is the problem here. That the template that was passed via 'expand()' may or may not have fields that are null is the difficulty here. Be that from a database or from other methods, but this is the 'sadness' being complained about. The null tells displayed field to be empty rather than populated with $foo ...
