I just agree with you. we shouldn't :) the old API will stay no one
will ever remove it.

 exactly i propose *additional* Object oriented API (not touching BC, no
breaking)
i suppose you agree with this and that's excellent. (i'm ready to help if
you like)
but you have much more experience with the engine and i hope you folks do it
in the near future. this will be very important for the future of PHP.

i am just waiting the YES it will happen. and that's enough for me.
