This was the point I was trying to make. We have some very useful packages that as yet have not been 'upgraded' to 5.3 due to lack of time. Yes they run, but the deprecated warnings and the like ARE a problem in themselves, and working through code simply to clear warnings, and still maintain BC for people using 5.2 for other reasons is yet another distraction.
