I'm guessing that your fedora build is either *also* using that same layer with your respective system-wide version of libgd, or it's being ignored in favor of the internally bundled version. If you're referring to the 'official' fedora builds, i think they're using the bundled version. I think the only supported debian release where it *should* be a problem is in debian lenny, which is the previous stable release (i.e. "oldstable" not "stable", which is << 5.3.x). I think you'd need to go back quite a ways on the ubuntu side as well, somewhere between hardy and lucid. If there are other outstanding issues in the latest versions/releases, then they're not on anyone's radar and ought to be discussed. sean
