I expect that this is what you wanted to use the student for - work on your own special project - but this is something that GSoC is definitely not meant for. The original idea behind this project was a rewrite of run-tests.php, not something else. Now I hear that a different project was being worked on by the student, and even *this* didn't get anyware.
