Try using "--enable-fastcgi" instead of "--enable-embed" for lighttpd and also examine the help in configure, you will find that some flags conflict, while it may work in a particular OS this doesn't make it right. Then rename php to php-fastcgi, copy php.ini to /etc/lighttpd-php.ini.
