After 4 point releases in the 5.2 branch, I think it is sufficiently stable that a process on PHP 5.3 can begin. What I would like to do in the next week is assemble everyone's wishlist for 5.3 and make a TODO that I will then aggregate and post on the list by next Friday. Hopefully, we then can vote on all of the other ideas within a week and a formal TODO for 5.3 can be assembled at this time. Hopefully this process will allow us to quickly get to writing code rather then flaming each other on the list :-). Overall my goal is to have 5.3 branched within 2 weeks and released by February 2008 with RCs starting early '08. So please, if you have idea for 5.3 please send them over to me directly, not the list and I will start building 5.3 TODO v0.1 Ilia Alshanetsky
