At least 'a' and 'the' are not gender specific! In french, (http://www.french-linguistics.co.uk/grammar/le_or_la_in_french.shtml) - "you've just got to remember!" which is which! And with so many things about language, there are oddities! e.g. "Richard and Sally". Now, if you wanted to increase the gaps around the "and" you could quite legitimately say, "I would like a bigger gap between Richard and and and and and Sally". -- ----- Richard Quadling Zend Certified Engineer : http://zend.com/zce.php?c=ZEND002498&r=213474731 "Standing on the shoulders of some very clever giants!"
