I once said something similar on my first RFC, this is about how it was =
explained to me:

The documentation team writes the documentation from the RFC. I=E2=80=99=
m sure you can contribute, but for a new feature, there=E2=80=99ll proba=
bly be some pushback on why it=E2=80=99s not in the RFC. Granted, you=E2=
=80=99d probably get some leeway because you=E2=80=99re the author of th=
e RFC, but it=E2=80=99s not much different than some random person openi=
ng a PR explaining a feature and there is no guarantee you=E2=80=99d act=
ually contribute to the documentation, so putting it in the RFC is the s=
implest solution.
