Yes, a "most recent N news articles" with a "view older news" link would m=
ake sense, and give room for some other sections like prominent links to ma=
in documentation sections, bug tracker, etc=2E

This would be a good incremental improvement within the current look and f=
eel, and is more likely to be completed successfully than several months of=
 root-and-branch redesign=2E
